  • 988 Suicide Prevention Call Specialist

    Advent Talent Group is seeking compassionate professionals to join a mission-driven nonprofit dedicated to creating lasting change through equity, collaboration, and advocacy. As a 988 Suicide Prevention Call Specialist, you’ll provide trauma-informed crisis support to individuals experiencing emotional distress or suicidal crisis, helping them navigate their most vulnerable moments.

    Overview
    Compensation:
    $27.25/hour + shift differentials
    Location: Hybrid – Minneapolis, MN
    Schedule: Full-time (37.5 hours/week)
    Employment Type: Contract-to-hire
    Available Shift:

    • Friday-Tuesday 12PM-8PM (days off Wed-Thurs)
    • Friday-Tuesday 8AM-4PM (days off Wed-Thurs)
    • Thursday-Monday 6PM-2AM (days off Tues-Wed)

    Responsibilities

    • Provide empathetic crisis counseling and emotional support using evidence-based intervention techniques
    • Conduct suicide risk assessments and collaboratively develop individualized safety plans
    • Accurately document all interactions in the web-based iCarol system
    • Manage multi-line soft-phone systems to handle incoming and outgoing calls efficiently
    • Coordinate with emergency services when immediate intervention is required
    • Engage in continuous professional development and training opportunities
    • Foster a supportive, compassionate team environment

    Qualifications:

    • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field (preferred) OR 2+ years of professional experience in community services, crisis response, or mental health support

    Required Skills & Competencies:

    • Comprehensive knowledge of mental health principles, crisis intervention, and professional phone communication
    • Exceptional empathy, active listening, and interpersonal skills
    • Cultural competency and ability to work effectively with diverse populations
    • Ability to remain calm, focused, and solution‑oriented in high‑pressure situations
    • Tech‑savvy, with proficiency using computer systems and web‑based documentation platforms
    • Strong rapport‑building skills with appropriate professional boundaries

  • Human Resources Director

    Advent Talent Group is seeking a Human Resources Director to serve as a key member of the organization’s management team. This role acts as the sole human resources professional for a mission-driven organization focused on education. The Human Resources Director is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing a comprehensive HR function that aligns with the organization’s mission and values while supporting long-term growth and organizational effectiveness.

    Overview:
    Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
    Status: Full‑Time – Direct hire
    Pay Rate: $41–$43 per hour
    Location: Minneapolis, MN – On‑site

    Responsibilities
    This position oversees all aspects of human resources, including staffing, performance management, employee and leadership development, compensation and benefits, compliance, and HR policy development. The Human Resources Director works closely with employees, senior leadership, and the Human Resources Committee of the Board of Directors to ensure HR practices are equitable, legally compliant, and aligned with best practices.

    • Serve as the organization’s sole HR professional, leading all human resources functions including strategy, compliance, staffing, employee relations, compensation, benefits, and performance management
    • Partner with the CEO, senior leadership, and the Board of Directors (including the HR Committee) to design, implement, and evolve HR systems, policies, and practices aligned with organizational growth
    • Act as Compliance Officer, ensuring adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations (including I‑9, Wage & Hour, MNOSHA, IRS, ADA, MN Parenting Act, and Affirmative Action)
    • Develop, maintain, and interpret HR policies and procedures, including updating the employee handbook and maintaining accurate, legally compliant personnel files and employment records
    • Manage full‑cycle recruitment and onboarding for employees and volunteers, including organizational design support, job descriptions, postings, screening, interviews, offers, orientation, and background checks
    • Administer payroll support, timekeeping, compensation structures, and employee benefits programs, including vendor management for medical, dental, life, disability, HSAs, workers’ compensation, and unemployment insurance
    • Oversee performance management processes, discipline and termination procedures, employee relations, and provide coaching and consultation to leaders and managers
    • Coordinate employee training, professional development, leadership development initiatives, and support organizational culture and team effectiveness


    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or a related field
    • Minimum of 5 years of progressive human resources experience, preferably in a standalone or highly autonomous HR role
    • Strong working knowledge of employment law, compliance requirements, and HR best practices across the full employee lifecycle
    • Demonstrated ability to serve as a strategic advisor and trusted partner to executive leadership and boards
    • Experience managing compensation, payroll support, benefits administration, and vendor relationships
    • Proven ability to lead recruitment, performance management, employee relations, and organizational change initiatives
    • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, coaching, and influence skills with the ability to work across all levels of an organization
    • Strong organizational, project management, and analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, and PowerPoint

  • 211 Bilingual Call Center Associate

    Advent Talent Group is seeking compassionate, bilingual (Spanish/English) professionals to support the 211 Resource Helpline, a free, confidential service connecting individuals and families across Minnesota to essential resources such as housing, food, healthcare, and other critical supports.

    Overview:
    Location:
    Remote after first day onsite in Minneapolis, MN (Must be a Minnesota resident)
    Position Type: Contract – 3-6 months  
    Compensation: $24.50/hour plus applicable shift differentials
    Shifts Available

    1. Monday – Friday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
    2. Tuesday – Saturday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM


    Responsibilities
    211 Representatives respond to inquiries via phone, text, and web chat, using an internal resource database to provide accurate information and referrals. This is a mission‑driven role ideal for individuals with strong customer service skills, technical proficiency, and a passion for helping others.

    • Respond to phone calls, text messages, and web chats with empathy, professionalism, and cultural awareness
    • Provide high‑quality customer service while supporting individuals navigating complex or stressful situations
    • Research and deliver accurate community resource referrals using internal tools and databases
    • Clearly communicate available options and next steps to callers
    • Maintain confidentiality and accurately document all interactions
    • Follow established protocols, quality standards, and performance expectations
    • Participate in onboarding, required training, and ongoing professional development

     

    Qualifications

    • Minnesota resident with reliable high‑speed internet access
    • Fluent in Spanish (verbal and written)

    • Demonstrated ability to handle high‑volume customer interactions with professionalism and empathy
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Proven accountability, attention to detail, and problem‑solving abilities
    • Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast‑paced, remote environment
    • Familiarity with social service systems, resource navigation, or crisis‑adjacent support
