This strategic role is a key contributor to the advancement of a mission-driven nonprofit. The Development Manager is responsible for cultivating and stewarding relationships with donors, foundations, corporations, and government entities to support the organization’s financial sustainability and growth. This individual will transform programmatic and financial needs into compelling funding narratives and lead fundraising initiatives aligned with the nonprofit’s values.

Location: Hybrid – Saint Paul, MN
Status: Full-Time
Pay Rate: $33.00–$36.00/hour
Position Type: Contract-to-Hire
Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of 100–125 donors and prospects, conducting 12+ donor visits monthly (in-person or virtual)
- Develop and implement strategies for cultivating annual, multi-year, major, and planned gifts
- Collaborate with Communications to execute multi-channel fundraising campaigns
- Lead signature fundraising events, donor recognition activities, and alumni engagement initiatives
- Maintain accurate donor records and proposals
- Analyze data to inform fundraising strategies and track progress toward goals
- Provide coaching and support to team members to build a high-performing development team
- Represent the organization internally and externally with professionalism and alignment to mission

Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in development, advancement, or related fundraising roles
- Demonstrated success in donor cultivation, relationship management, and revenue generation
- Strong storytelling and strategic thinking abilities
- Proficiency with CRM systems (preferably Raiser’s Edge NXT)
- Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities
