    Responsibilities

  • Senior Accountant

    Advent Talent Group is seeking a Senior Accountant to join a high-impact Finance team, responsible for supporting the organization’s financial health through accurate reporting, strong operational execution, and continuous process improvement. Our client is a well-established, mission-driven nonprofit serving families across the Twin Cities and greater Minnesota.     Responsibilities

    • Manage core accounting functions including journal entries, accruals, month-end close, and balance sheet/bank reconciliations
    • Oversee full-cycle accounts payable and receivable, including vendor management, donor pledges, and 1099 reporting
    • Process and track donations and revenue streams, ensuring accurate reconciliation between donor systems and financial records

    Qualifications

    • 5–7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with strong ownership of full-cycle accounting processes
    • Proven experience managing month-end close, financial reporting, and balance sheet integrity with minimal oversight
    • Strong understanding of GAAP and experience applying technical accounting concepts in a practical setting
    • Experience in nonprofit or fund accounting environment strongly preferred
    • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis) and experience with accounting/ERP systems (Blackbaud or similar preferred)
    • Demonstrated ability to improve processes, strengthen internal controls, and support system implementations or transitions
    • Strong communication and business partnering skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to leadership or non-finance stakeholders
