Job Description

Looking for a retail role but tired of late nights and constant weekends? This Shop Associate for a well-known nonprofit in Brooklyn Center, MN, is a non-traditional retail role with M–F hours and only occasional Saturdays! Encompassing customer service, POS and inventory, this position plays an important part in supporting the nonprofit' s mission to invest in youth through leadership skills and various programming.

Job Type: Contract
Location: Brooklyn Center with occasional travel to St. Paul* – On-site
Schedule: 30-40 hours/week M-F, plus occasional Saturdays
Compensation: $20/hour

*Mileage from work-related travel will be reimbursed by the employer

About the Job
Duties and responsibilities include:
  • Welcoming retail guests and promoting an understanding of how products in the shop support the organization' s mission
  • Processing transactions and using Salesforce to respond to and document customer requests and concerns
  • Keeping up to date on product information and creating fun and inviting displays
  • Using software to analyze inventory, promotions and pricing
  • Ensuring a fully stocked sales floor and that all merchandise is properly labeled and with the correct signage
  • Assisting with inventory counts, maintaining an accurate inventory
  • Setting up and operating pop-up stores and participating in council meetings

About You
Qualifications for this role include:
  • Experience in retail, including with inventory
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint and Teams
  • Strong organizational and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work well in a team setting with excellent collaboration skills
  • Ability to travel to other locations and lift up to 50 lbs as needed
  • Some post-secondary education preferred
