Overview:
$45.00 per hour
Contract
Hybrid in Minneapolis, MN
Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with occasional early starts or late stays as needed
Duties:
- Event Logistics & Execution: Plan and execute events, including coordinating timelines, maps, communication, and logistics. Set up events in various spaces, from onsite at GTCUW to corporate offices and rented event spaces.
- Physical Setup: Engage in the physical setup of events, including lifting, moving, and organizing materials. Prepare for events by counting, staging supplies, and preparing operational items and signage.
- On-the-Ground Operations: Manage and oversee event activities, including setting up and taking down event spaces, and handling miscellaneous project tasks as needed.
- Volunteer Coordination: Collaborate with the team to oversee and manage volunteers, especially during large events, ensuring smooth operation and effective engagement.
- Inventory Management: Receive deliveries, conduct inventory, and store event materials appropriately.
- Communication & Coordination: Maintain clear and effective communication with corporate and nonprofit partners regarding event logistics and any on-the-fly changes or requirements.
- Support Quarterly Initiatives: Assist with various initiatives such as packing homelessness kits for individuals transitioning out of homelessness.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in large-scale event planning and logistics. Experience with high-touch business relationships or events is highly desirable. Experience with university networks, conference planning, or convention center planning is a plus.
- Physical Ability: Must consistently be able to lift and carry boxes weighing 25-40 lbs.
- Transportation: Reliable transportation required for picking up and dropping off event materials. Mileage reimbursed at the current IRS rate, and travel time will be compensated.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem-Solving: Creative thinker with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle unexpected changes efficiently.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience with other office software and tools is beneficial.
