Job Description
Advent Talent Group is seeking two Community Resource Specialist’s for our non-profit client in Minneapolis, MN. This role is key in connecting individuals with community services and resources. The Specialist will assess needs, provide timely and accurate referrals, and support outreach efforts, all while maintaining professionalism and empathy. A strong knowledge of human services and crisis management is essential.
Overview:
Compensation: $23.50 + shift differentials
Employment Type: Contract-to-hire
Location: Downtown Minneapolis, MN (Hybrid)
Work schedule: Full-Time
- Monday–Friday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM, 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM, or 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Willingness to work outside of regular hours, including evenings, weekends, or during disasters.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments by asking targeted questions to gather relevant information, ensuring accurate referrals, comprehensive documentation, and informed decision-making.
- Present a range of resources and solutions to meet the diverse needs of inquirers, offering multiple options to empower informed choices.
- Stay current on policies, procedures, and best practices through continuous training and professional development, ensuring the application of up-to-date knowledge in daily operations.
- Respond promptly and effectively to crises, including mental health concerns, domestic violence, and suicidal thoughts, by providing immediate referrals and support.
- Represent the program at community outreach events, collaborating with local organizations, businesses, and service providers to raise awareness and encourage program utilization.
- Maintain precise, up-to-date documentation of all interactions, ensuring adherence to case note standards and follow-up protocols to ensure clients receive appropriate services and support.
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of human services systems, clearly communicating available community resources and services to inquirers.
Qualifications:

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, or related field preferred; or 2+ of relevant work experience in customer service, contact centers, and human services.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to respond to inquiries with empathy, patience, and a nonjudgmental approach. Strong customer service skills and the ability to engage professionally with diverse individuals, both internally and externally.

Demonstrated ability to maintain professional boundaries during crisis calls while providing appropriate referrals, ensuring interactions align with organizational protocols without providing direct services.

Ability to work well under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and meet performance metrics in a fast-paced, high-change environment. Resilient attitude when handling setbacks or difficult situations while maintaining focus and professionalism.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and other relevant software tools, with the ability to effectively navigate databases and resources to make accurate referrals and document interactions.

Strong attention to detail in maintaining accurate and complete records, adhering to documentation standards, and ensuring quality service in all interactions.

Fluency in English is required; bilingual skills in Spanish, Hmong, Somali, or other languages are a plus.
