Job Description
A mission-driven organization is seeking a Senior QuickBooks & Operations Specialist for a flexible, part-time or project-based contract role. This position is ideal for a seasoned professional with deep expertise in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and a strong background in financial operations—especially within the nonprofit sector.
You’ll work directly with the CFO and collaborate across departments, vendors, and community stakeholders to streamline financial systems, support strategic initiatives, and enhance internal operations.
Overview:
- Compensation: $50/hour
- Hours: 10–20 hours per week, with flexible scheduling available between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM (CST)
- Location: Remote (must reside in MN)
- Type: Contract
- Start Date: June 23, 2025
- Contract Duration: Through December 31, 2025
Responsibilities
- Generate and share financial reports; manage vendor records and QBO configurations
- Maintain schedules, calendars, and task tracking for the CFO and project teams
- Coordinate cross-departmental efforts and automate operational workflows
- Support integrations between QBO and platforms like ShulCloud, Brightwheel, and CIMS
- Assist with app implementations for expense reporting and time tracking
- Perform reconciliations and maintain compliance calendars
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors while upholding confidentiality and integrity
Qualifications:
Required:
- Strong alignment with values such as learning, tradition, spirituality, and acts of kindness
- High level of integrity and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
- Proficiency in at least one Microsoft Office application (or a strong willingness to learn)
- No formal accounting degree required—practical experience and skills are valued
- 5-7 years of experience in nonprofit finance, accounting, or operations
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative working style
- Curiosity about financial systems and a desire to grow within nonprofit operations
- Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, OneNote
- Accounting & Finance: QuickBooks Online (QBO)
- Nonprofit & Operations Platforms: Foundant, ShulCloud, Brightwheel, CIMS
