Job Description

A contract role in Minneapolis, the Graphic Designer is a creative position for a large and active nonprofit that seeks to bring equity and prosperity to the Twin Cities community. This role will primarily be responsible for creating original branded designs for a variety of media and platforms in collaboration with the creative and marketing teams, and is great for mid-level designers with a creative and mission-driven disposition.

About the Job
Responsibilities for this role include:
  • Creating bold, original and compelling branded designs, campaigns and layouts for a variety of media and formats in collaboration with the creative and marketing teams
  • Providing thought leadership and contributing to ideation as a key member of the marketing team, creating cutting-edge campaigns to reach external audiences
  • Building expertise in the nonprofit messaging landscape through understanding products and services and maintaining knowledge of relevant design trends
  • Managing projects and external vendors

About You
Qualifications for this role include:
  • 4+ years graphic design or agency experience
  • A bachelor’ s degree or equivalent work experience in a design or visual communication-focused field
  • Expert-level skills in Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Knowledge of design principles and color theory
  • Excellent communication skills and openness to changes,  feedback and direction
  • Time management and multitasking, with excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate creative strategies and solutions effectively to internal clients
  • Keeps up with creative and cultural trends, understanding how to apply them to marketing materials
  • UX experience preferred
